Theory Test

Theory Test Pro in partnership with Mervyn Jones Driver Training

You will have to take your theory test before taking your practical test, it is recommended that you book your theory test once you begin your lessons.  The test itself is made up of a multiple choice part and a hazard perception part.
The multiple choice part is made up of questions followed by several possible answers.  You are required to select the correct answer, there may be one or more right answer.  You are able to 'flag' any questions you are unsure about and return to them later in the test.  There may be some car questions given as a case study. The case study will:
  • show a short story that five questions will be based on
  • focus on real life examples and experiences that you could come across when driving

The hazard perception part will consist of several video clips.  The clips:

  • feature every day road scenes
  • contain at least one developing hazard - but one of the clips will feature two developing hazards.

Both parts need to be completed and passed in order to pass the theory test.
